In 2003, we met a family from Laos while they were visiting relatives in the States.  We hit it off right away as they're very likeable sort of people.  They introduced us to many authentic Lao foods all of which we immediately fell in love with (Pho is one of our favorites).  Among other fun Lao things, they introduced us to handmade 100% silk scarves, and asked if we would be willing to offer them to our customers.

These handmade 100% silk scarves have been shipped to us by our now dear friends from Laos (every so many years, our families get together whenever they visit the States).  The scarves are made by community artisans using traditional methods.  This helps to keep their community and culture intact by empowering the people to stay in their villages rather than uprooting to look for work in the city.
